My Wash & Twistout Routine

In the new year I wanted to start using less heat on my hair, after years of chemicals and weaves I wanted to enjoy my natural hair.

I stared watching lots of YouTube videos and talking to a few natural girls I was ready to get going. After a few times I think I have got a good routine going and I want to share that with you guys today.

First I part my hair in to four sections and plate each section. I don’t brush my hair dry at all!

Once in the shower I wet one section at a time and apply Tresemme Flawless Curls Conditioner. Then I gently brush my hair with a detangling brush and resection my hair back in to four.

I let the conditioner sit for 5 minutes then rinse it out, then I go in with my shampoo. I have a very dry scalp so I use Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, its very drying on my hair hence why I use conditioner first. I also let it sit for 3-5 minutes.

Time for a treatment I love a protein treatments so I use Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor, I find that it really makes my hair soft and keeps my hair strong.

Ok so we are now out the shower time to get to the part you really want to know about. How I start my twist-outs is by parting my hair greasing my scalp, yes I still use Blue Magic Hair & Scalp Conditioner With Bergamot it works for me.

Its funny we all used it as kids and our hair was thriving but as we got older we listen to fads I think we just need to keep things simple and stick to what has always worked.

Once my scalp is done I section my hair into smaller parts apply some Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream and CHI Keratin Silk Healing Infusion then I take a tiny blob of Eco Styler Black Castor and Flax Seed Oil.

It takes my a good 30-45 minutes to do my whole head as I have thick hair, any parts that start to fee too dry I rewet them, but once its done I like to let it hair dry. I also love to leave it not just over night but a day or two.

And that’s it that’s how I like to do my hair now that I’m trying to use little to no heat. If you give this a try very thing is linked and let now know in the comments or on my socials down below.
