La Roche-Posay Effaclar Anti-Blemish System Review

So if you have been following the blog, you would know that I have sensitive, oily skin and trying to find something that works for both has been a struggle.

I’m not sure why I have never come across La Roche-Posay before as its a well-established brand, but when I saw it was for the oily sensitive skin I was excited to try it. its a bit on the pricey side but the website Feel Unique often has sales so you can get it off there.

So you receive 3 products in total first is the Effaclar Purifying Gel Cleanser which is a gentle gel that purifies skin, eliminates excess oil and removes bacteria that may lead to spots. The second product is the Effaclar Clarifying Toner, a refining toner to reduce the size of pores and improve skin texture, Then the last product is Effaclar Duo A correcting and hydrating lotion.

Effaclar Purifying Gel Cleanser

Now my first impressions on this cleanser were not great, but that was only due to the fact I had previously been using a cleanser that removed makeup as well as cleaning. You defiantly have to remove your makeup before you use this, as it meant for just cleansing your skin. Once I started using it how it was meant to I started to see the benefits it lathers up to a nice foam and has a light scent, it doesn’t leave the skin feeling dry just soft and clean.

Honestly, I would be happy to keep using this cleanser but the love I have for the Tony Moly- Clean Dew Red Grapefruit Foam Cleanser is just too strong at this point. Again I would recommend using it as part of the system but on its own, it was the least favourite out of the 3.

Effaclar Clarifying Toner

Finally! A toner that works for my skin, it’s not too strong that it stings but you do feel it working. It’s scented so if you hate scents this may not be for you. (but it’s not so overpowering) I just love this toner I felt all the hard to reach dirt coming out and you could see it on the cotton pad too. I really felt like this is the best toner for me, I will keep on using it for a long time to come. If you try only one of these products make sure you try this toner.

Effaclar Duo

Not only do I think this is an excellent moisturiser but it has so many other benefits this has also become a holy grail product for me. Yes, its a moisturiser that lasts for 24h, it also helps to reduce spots, control shine and reduce the appearance of spot marks. I 100% can see that some of my older spots marks have started to fade, I do believe that if I keep using this it will fade any if not all my blemishes.

So do I recommend this system? If you have the coin to spare then yes give it a try at £32.50 this is not cheap but do try to get it on sale as I paid £23.70. If you only want to try one – two products I would give the face wash a miss.
